Miesha Tate came blazing with takedown attempts while Nunes kept on striking and defending the takedowns. Nunes who is a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and Brown in Judo didn’t want to engage in a ground and pound game but instead relied on her reach against Tate for a series of strikes. She caught Tate with a right that looked to have hurt Miesahe in the process. Nunes seemed cautious despite Tate running away but when she sensed that Tate’s knees couldn’t hold any longer she attacked and went for the submission.
