Shaquille O’Neal Gives Valuable Money Advice To Young People

in NBA

Shaquille O’Neal has amassed a huge net worth of around $400 million dollars throughout his playing career and as an investor and businessman.

He has not been careful of his money early in his life and is well known to have blown $1 million dollar in one hour after he got his big payday.

As Shaq narrates – “I went through a lot of trials and tribulations. A lot of failures”

In this interview video, Shaq gives valuable advice to young people: “Alright children,” using a blank sheet of paper. “This is $100, What you want to do is, you want to rip the $100 in half.”

Take one half and “save it. Don’t ever touch it. Put it away. Don’t even look at it. Now you’ve got $50 left. Now, the smart people … the billionaires of the world, they’ll take half of that $50 and put all that away,” he says, while adding another quarter of the piece of paper to the “save pile.”

“This right here,” referring to the remaining quarter, is your fun money: “You want to buy houses, you want to buy cars, you want to buy planes, you want to travel? This right here is what you have fun with.”

O’Neal recommends only using 25% of your earnings and saving and investing 75 percent.

He finishes up with “A guy taught me that a long time ago, and it’s been working for me,”.

This is a wonderful advice and frankly it doesn’t matter how much you earn, what matters is how much you keep. While it may be harder for people earning less, the key takeaway here is to adjust your spending to a minimum to be able to save as much.

Andrea Lee Accuses Judge in UFC 247 for Not Doing his Job

in UFC

Saturday’s UFC 247 event was a controversial one, with audience members, commentators and social media fans baffled by the way the judges scored many of the fights.

Andrea Lee lost to Lauren Murphy on UFC 247 via split decision, she had one judge scoring the bout 29-28 for her, while two scored it 29-28 and 30-27 for Murphy.

Andrea Lee after learning of Joe Rogan and Dominick Cruz comments how one of the judges didn’t pay attention as he was on his phone while the women were fighting.

As Joe says — “We’re looking at a judge that’s not even watching the fight…This is insane,”

Cruz says — “The judges just don’t even watch…They are looking down at the floor. Insane! It’s going to be tough for the fighters tonight to figure out how to win a decision.”

After several more minutes Rogan again mentioned “This is crazy. He’s still not watching the fight!”

Andrea Lee wants the judge to be fired for not doing his job — “If anyone has video or pictures of the judge who was on his phone during the fights, please send them to me. I just think that judge should be fired, he should never have the opportunity to sit cage side and judge fights ever again, especially when there are plenty other judges who were better qualified and more deserving.”

We all get it, while at work some people have emergency and have to be on the phone or a sudden emergency message throws them off. Unfortunately the job requires to pay attention while the fight is going on for the fairness for both fighters and viewers. Let us see how this ends up.

Liverpool Football Club Data Science Analytics in Action

Liverpool is on a tear having conceded 7 fewer goals than any other Premier League team and this success is being attributed to their data science department.

The club’s sporting director Michael Edwards is a former analyst and believes in data, he has the support of their club’s manager, Jürgen Klopp as he used the analytical results for top-level decision making.

Rounding up their top executive team is their director of the research division Ian Graham who holds a doctorate in theoretical physics and crunches numbers for player evaluation.

The team has not disclosed how they are using data but uses a strategy popularly called as “pitch control” which means to e able to control and utilize the pitch based on the best analytical suggestions.

Jade Roper-Tolbert Wins $1M in Fantasy Football Then Stripped Off for Collusion

in Fantasy Sports/NFL

If you have ever played fantasy football you know there is always money at stake, it could be as small as $500 dollar pot money between friends or on big sites likfe DraftKings it can amount to millions of dollars. This is exactly what Jade Roper-Tolber a former contestant on “The Bachelor” have achieved, winning $1 million dollars playing fantasy football.

Jade Roper-Tolbert won “Millionaire Maker” contest by DraftKings which consists of creating fantasy lineups from the NFL’s four wild card games. Her winning lineup included Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and Minnnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook.

Because of her celebrity status, everyone was talking of her winnings and was suggested that she broke the rules of the contest by colluding with her husband to gain competitive advantage in the fantasy, this immediately caught the attention of DraftKings who went ahead with their investigation.

I am sure that high profile players have all sorts of techniques and tactics that gain them competitive advantage but they remain silent and out of the news unlike the instant fame which led to the investigation of Jade.

DraftKings official statement on the matter — “We take the integrity and fairness of our contests very seriously and are looking into this matter,”.

Jade’s husband Tanner blames sexism —

“Would the questions, accusations and curiosity about this win be the same if the winner had been male and someone who wasn’t already in the public eye? Somehow Jade picked the right lineup, got the million and the spotlight got shown on it. And people, especially since she’s a woman, assume that I do it all for her. If I had won, I bet no one would’ve raised a flag.”

Right now the money is still on-hold pending investigation by DraftKings and the Tolberts are patiently waiting for the decision.

It remains to be seen if the Tolberts decide to sue for breach of contract, but DraftKings’ terms and conditions require players to accept arbitration in the event of legal proceedings. This would mean that a limited financial award may happend as they appear before an arbitrator in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, DraftKings headquarters.

Whether there is truth to collusion or not, winning fantasy football at that scale and amount is very hard, much harder when you are a celebrity. Even if there is collusion, winning it is a lot about luck, so just play fair, follow the rules, and enjoy the game and future winnings without the baggage.

Fantasy Football Week 16 Start Sit Lineup

in Fantasy Sports/NFL

We are now in Week 16 of the NFL Fantasy games and for most leagues this is their championship game.

Here we bring you the must start and regular starts for your NFL Fantasy Week 16 Championship:

Quarterback (Top Starts)

https://www.instagram.com/p/B3r32URHEqn/

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dolphins (vs. CIN) – You know what you are getting with Fitzpatrick, some lousy games and some magical games. Playing against the Bengals will be loose and mid-range to high-scoring games, expect Ryan to pile up yards and TDs here.

Russell Wilson, Seattle (vs. ARI) – The Cardinals give up the most fantasy points to QBs and with the Seahawks pushing for playoff wins and chemistry, expect Russell Wilson to be on his top game today.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys (vs. PHI) – Coming off a monster win vs the Los Angeles Rams, the Cowboys are expected to hit high scoring game vs the Philadelphia Eagles. Dak should get his yardage and TDs and should be it the top 5 QBs.

Lamar Jackson, Ravens (vs. CLE) – No brainer start, really we just want to highlight Lamar, top MVP candidate here.

Quarterback (Regular Starts)

Drew Brees, Saints (at TEN), Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (at CHI), Deshaun Watson, Texans (at TB), Aaron Rodgers, Packers (at MIN)

Running backs (Top Starts)

Mike Boone, Vikings (at GB) – The Vikings like to ran a lot and with Dalvin Cook out and Mattison uncertain as well, expect preseason HOF Mike Boone to score and provide at least 16 fantasy points. He might be the RB you need at Flex to get you that championship.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys (at PHI) – with a monster game against the Los Angeles Rams, expect Zeke to pile up the points against a projected high scoring game vs the Philadelphia Eagles.

Todd Gurley, Rams (at SF) – this is going to be a tough matchup and Todd Gurley may not get the yards but would be a player the Rams depend on the End Zone. The Rams wouldn’t be throwing much for TDs with the 49ers strong defense, so expect Gurley to save your fantasy with TDs.

Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (at IND) – Like Lamar Jackson, a no-brainer. As the #1 running back there is no doubt McCaffrey will get you the yardage and touchdown regardless of opponent with a very small margin of error.

Running backs (Regular Starts)

Saquon Barkley, Giants (at WAS), Aaron Jones, Packers (at MIN), Mark Ingram, Ravens (at CLE), Leonard Fournette, Jaguars (at ATL), Alvin Kamara, Saints (at TEN), Nick Chubb, Browns (vs. BAL), Austin Ekeler, Chargers (vs. OAK), Chris Carson, Seahawks (vs. ARI), Joe Mixon, Bengals (at MIA), Le’Veon Bell, Jets (vs. PIT)

Wide Receivers (Top Starts)

Terry McLaurin, Redskins (vs. NYG) – He has the speed, talent and chemistry with his Ohio State QB, expect him to score a couple of TDs and 80 yards to go with it.

Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. DET) – A towering physical and athletic wide receiver who has the targets and going up against a weak Lions defense, expect Courtland to have a monster game.

Wide Receiver (Regular Starts)

Michael Thomas, Saints (at TEN), DeAndre Hopkins, Texans (at TB), Tyreek Hill, Chiefs (at CHI), Amari Cooper, Cowboys (at PHI), Davante Adams, Packers (at MIN), Julio Jones, Falcons (vs. JAX), Keenan Allen, Chargers (vs. OAK), Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (vs. ARI), Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, Browns (vs. BAL), Robert Woods, Rams (at SF), Allen Robinson, Bears (vs. KC), D.J. Moore, Panthers (at IND), Julian Edelman, Patriots (vs. BUF), DeVante Parker, Dolphins (vs. CIN), D.J. Chark, Jaguars (at ATL)

Tight Ends (Top Starts)

George Kittle, 49ers (vs. LAR) – He is TE#1, and there is no room to doubt his output against the Rams. He should be able to dominate the yards and a TD in this game.

Travis Kelce, Chiefs (at CHI) – He may be TE#2 but as close as to Kittle at that elite position, Mahomes is feeding him more and more instead of spreading it to his wide receivers, expect Kelce to pour in the points against the Bears.

Tyler Higbee, Rams (vs. SFO) – He is continuously rising and the Rams have found a way to utilize him as an elite receiver. Expect him to get you the yardage needed for a strong championship ran.

Tight Ends (Regular Starts)

Darren Waller, Raiders (at LAC), Zach Ertz, Eagles (vs. DAL), Jared Cook, Saints (at TEN), Austin Hooper, Falcons (vs. JAX)

Defenses (Top Starts)

Patriots (vs. BUF), Ravens (at CLE), Steelers (at NYJ)

Defenses (Regular Starts)

Seahawks (vs. ARI), Broncos (vs. DET), Falcons (vs. JAX), Chiefs (at CHI), Bills (at NE), Chargers (vs. OAK)
