SEATTLE SEAHAWKS QUOTES

There were a couple plays out there where I feel myself, I didn’t execute right, and I think those were plays that would have put the game in a different perspective.

— Marshawn Lynch after the team lost to Cincinnati Bengals in 2011.

I am trusted with the ball, and I am trusted in those situations.

— Matt Hasselbeck when he under-throwed a receiver for an interception against the Washington Redskins in 2008.

Finally, I stepped up and helped this team.

— Rian Lindell when he kicked a 54-yard field goal against the San Diego Chargers in 2001.

We’re happy to be in the position that we’re in.

— Malcolm Smith when they beat St. Louis Rams in 2013.

I can help this team win as a No. 2 or No. 3 or whatever it is. I know my role.

— Trent Dilfer when he filled in for Matt Hasselbeck against the Denver Broncos in 2001.

I wasn’t perfect. I was far from perfect. I just wasn’t on the same page as my guys.

–Matt Hasselbeck after they lost to the Broncos in 2002.

Some unusual things happened. That’s the playoffs for you.

— Mike Holmgren after having beaten the Dallas Cowboys in 2007.

I’m not sure. They throw the ball and they run the ball well – they’ve done both. They change from game to game. I guess the team they’re playing dictates the style in which they play.

–Sherman describing New England offense, more finesse or physical

The key to the turnaround was getting healthy. Getting healthy, that’s always the key in our game. The healthier you are, just getting the players you want out there to be out there an extended amount of time, that helped us.

— Sherman on how their turnaround from 3-3 to where they are now

It’s going to be loud, I’m sure it’s going to be loud. Two big, strong men – I think that’s what football is about. I think a lot of people are looking forward to that.

–Sherman’s thoughts on the collision between Seattle strong safety Kam Chancellor and New England tight end Rob Gronkowski

I thought it was funny. I thought it was funny because I know BB. I know Brandon and I know what his intent was. I know his mind and who he is as a person, so it was funny.

— Sherman’s thoughts to New England cornerback Brandon Browner’s comments about his and Seattle free safety Earl Thomas’ injuries

Yeah, I’m not immortal. One day I will pass away. He is perfectly right about that. He said we can’t tackle him? That an opinion. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. That’s perfectly fine.

Sherman’s thoughts on New England running back LeGarrette Blount commenting that Seattle isn’t immortal, and that they can’t tackle him

Zero. That controversy, like I said before, has no bearing on this game. It’s not like he’s going to get interviewed after every play about how much pressure is in the football. He’s going to out there and play the game that he’s been playing for years since he was a kid, and he’s going to have a blast doing it.

— Sherman’s thoughts if New England controversy will affect Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the game Sunday
