The win moved him into 5th place of all time Grand Slam winners and would just need 4 more to tie Pete Sampras with the most Grand Slam titles in tennis singles player history.

Who can stop Federer?

That is a question that none of today’s set of players can answer. The numbers are mind boggling.

Serena Williams is a dominating women’s tennis player who have won seven titles and adding her eight one after winning the Australian Open 2007. She had a terrific performance winning against Maria Sharapova on a score of 6-1, 6-2.

World Ranking and the Turnaround

Serena Williams had a horrible season after winning the Australian Open in 2005 primary because of her injuries. Her ranking fell to as low as 140 in 2006 and entered the 2007 Australian Open with a rank of 81. Just two weeks after staying in the 81st slot, she has climbed to number 14 and making her only the second unseeded women to have won the Australian Open.
